Support Automation and Development Engineer (Linux)

The Support Automation and Development Engineer is responsible for our critical support systems.  This role is integral in ensuring that our virtual environments are operating smoothly for our customers. The Engineer will get to work with innovating new solutions for our customers as well as improving tools that are already available.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain tools and systems associated with deployment of critical Support related systems and projects
  • Work across multiple departments to develop, deploy, and maintain a variety of support tools
  • Create and maintain clear documentation
  • Facilitate and/or provide training for systems, products, and relevant topics
  • Work with customers to ensure proposed solutions to meet their needs and/or requirements 
  • Work with third party vendors 
  • Provide escalated technical support
  • Stay current on existing and future industry technologies
  • Participate in incident response process

Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of high level system admin experience
  • Expert knowledge of LAMP Stack, replication, backups, and open source server technologies
  • Advanced understanding of and owning and supporting software as a service
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment
  • Expert troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of containerization
  • Proven customer service acumen
  • Strong multi-tasking abilities
  • Able to work both independently and in groups with minimal supervision on mainly project oriented tasks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable combination of education or relative experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing CI/CD features provided by GitLab
  • Scripting experience
