Software Development Engineer

InterWorx is seeking a motivated middle/senior Software Engineer to join our team developing and maintaining the InterWorx Control Panel. A small-team environment with big-company benefits, InterWorx offers a continuously challenging set of tasks that always keep work interesting!

The InterWorx Control Panel is a full stack solution for managing web hosting servers. Driven by our own API, InterWorx offers the most flexibility imaginable for hosts to integrate into their own systems.

Daily tasks can be widely varied, from bug squashing, to improving our devops stack, to developing support for new services or OS versions.

The ideal candidate will have the head for problem solving, the heart for helping, and the stomach for refactoring.

As a Software Development Engineer you would:

  • Participate in programming activities related to new development and maintenance of existing applications
  • Master an understanding of our development processes and culture, then identify and lead efforts to improve them
  • Advocate for and foster the health of our codebase
  • Work with various departments to understand both employee and customer requirements and objectives
  • Contribute to, develop, and execute technical documentation
  • Build/develop new tools for performing testing/validation function
  • Work in a collaborative environment to build new products and features in our existing products
  • Constantly work to improve knowledge about the systems and technologies that we use
  • Design and create test conditions and code to address business and technical use cases
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Mentor others on skills at which you excel

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with SQL databases
  • Basic knowledge of the product development life cycle
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge in the PHP programming language
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Basic understanding of linux systems
  • A passion for improving software/systems
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Related discipline or equivalent experience
