Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer assists Nexcess sales staff as a technical resource and project visionary for complex Managed Application sales. The sales engineer is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. This role assists in the development and presentation of proposals for our most complex and important Managed Application projects. It is a sales engineer's responsibility to explain the technical and functional aspects of a product or service to users. Not only does the Sales Engineer explain the value of the solutions to clients, they also assist in educating our internal teams. This is a position for someone with technical knowledge, customer service, and sales skills.

As a Sales Engineer you would:

  • Serve as a technical resource to assist in proposal creation for our most complex Managed Application setups
  • Present solutions alongside members of the Managed Applications and Managed Hosting sales teams
  • Conducting in-depth product demonstrations of products/services
  • Presenting the product and all features to customers at events such as conferences and seminars
  • Mentor various teams and individuals on product best practices
  • Assisting with negotiating contract terms
  • Participate in special projects as assigned
  • Communicating customer requirements to product management and support teams
  • Engage in continuous training on, and for, our most complex products 
  • Work with the Engineering team to develop and explain solution capability  
  • Occasionally travel to meet with customers and/or attend events
  • Work with applicable support teams to identify solutionable issues 
  • Track closed solutions with other departments to ensure success

You Have:

  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Understanding of datacenter operation
  • Strong familiarity with Physical/Cloud based hosting architecture and server stack optimization
  • Strong familiarity with Applications such as WordPress, WooCommerce, Magento, etc.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Strong projection coordination, time management skills, and the ability to multitask
  • Strong Team player
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or comparable combination of education or relative experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
