System Monitoring & Recovery Supervisor

The System Monitoring & Recovery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the System Monitoring & Recovery team and ensuring that staff is performing appropriately to meet company goals. This role will also perform general System Monitoring & Recovery Technician duties as needed.

As a System Monitoring & Recovery Supervisor you would

  • Configure, update, and troubleshoot LAMP stack, wordpress and cPanel
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose issues and provide quick and accurate solutions within a collaborative environment
  • Keep apprised of pertinent current technological developments in order to be able to better stay on top of potentially imminent concerns
  • Monitor and react to alerts from various reporting software
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose server issues within the datacenter
  • Be responsible for employee life cycle of direct reports from hiring through review, performance improvement, and termination
  • Serve as an escalation point for System Monitoring & Recovery Supervisor calls and tickets
  • Provide support for internal hardware, file system, and diagnostic issues
  • Research and planning for complex hardware/infrastructure tasks often involving interdepartmental participation
  • Write and update wiki's with pertinent information to help keep resources current and accurate

You Have:

  • 6+ years relevant experience
  • Solid working knowledge of RPM-based Linux distributions
  • Basic knowledge of non-RPM-based Linux distributions
  • Basic Windows Server OS knowledge
  • Advanced understanding of core hardware and OS functionalities
  • Basic networking knowledge with the ability to perform basic configurations of networking services and hardware
  • Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the LAMP stack
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing tact and respect for customer understanding and expectations
  • Exemplary organizational skills and time-management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks while maintaining strict adherence to customer expectations and privacy
  • Advanced customer service skills, with focus on handling customer concerns or disputes
  • Proven leadership capacity
  • RHCSA or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or comparable combination of education or relative experience
