Linux Support Technician

The Linux Support Technician role is to provide Heroic Support™ while addressing customer’s needs and requests through phone, helpdesk, and chat.

As a Linux Support Technician you would:

  • Ask customers to participate in diagnostic procedures, by using diagnostic software, Help Center articles and/or by listening to and following instructions to help ensure we are able to relate to and fully understand the customer’s issue
  • Determine the source of issues; i.e. network, server, client side, databases, etc. to ensure issues are properly solved
  • Install, configure, update and troubleshoot LAMP stack, wordpress and cPanel
  • Improve internal documentation, write and update wiki's with pertinent information to help keep resources current and accurate
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose complex customer application issues and provide quick and accurate solutions within a collaborative environment
  • Provide fellow system administrators and support representatives with technical support and guidance to help them more effectively complete tasks
  • Plan and perform kernel and software updates to help keep our customers systems up to date and secure
  • Provide support for a variety of third party software under our best effort umbrella
  • Keep apprised of pertinent current technological developments in order to be able to better stay on top of potential server issues

You Have:

  • Basic LAMP stack knowledge
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Exceptional customer service
  • 1+ years relevant experience
  • The ability to effectively multi-task in order to keep on top of the various job duties
  • Must be proficient at typing quickly and accurately to provide customers with timely, grammatically correct responses
  • An Associate's degree in a related field, or comparable combination of education or relative experience
