Product Manager – Managed Cloud

In this role, you will be responsible for the success of Liquid Web’s Managed Cloud products. You will understand and represent the voice of the customer, and you will play a key role in shaping the future of the product offerings. 

To achieve this, you will research market opportunities, analyze competitors’ offerings, talk to customers to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will also be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with stakeholders to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met, in alignment with the company’s overall strategy and goals.

As Product Manager for Managed Cloud, you will:


  • Define the product strategy and road map including developing business cases for new product development
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition and possess a strong understanding of trends in the web hosting arena
  • Identify customer needs and revenue generating opportunities
  • Specify and prioritize market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going interactions with prospects and customers
  • Use market-driven data to identify trends and make recommendations on how the platform can be optimized and improved, including (but not limited to) UX, pricing, packaging and product offerings
  • Prioritize feedback on new and existing features
  • Monitor the development, test, certification, deployment and ongoing support of each product; maintain ownership throughout the product life cycle
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for products
  • Take the lead in outlining packaging and pricing and competitive positioning
  • Work with the sales, marketing and product marketing teams on messaging, positioning and launch activities
  • Understand the key statistics associated with products including revenue, profitability, usage, and customer satisfaction and drive utilization to make product life cycle decisions
  • Analyze “Make” vs. “Buy” vs. “Partner” approaches to bring new products into the portfolio, and make specific recommendations on the course to take
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for introducing new products
  • Act as a leader within the company


Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Product Manager
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the Web Hosting or Private/Public Cloud market
  • Knowledge of Linux, basic administration skills and basics of Linux Networking is required
  • Deep familiarity with the business and technology of Azure, AWS and other cloud providers
  • Solid understanding and experience with cloud technologies such as OpenStack, AWS, and GCP
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and other container ecosystems
  • Technical background, with experience and understanding of servers, storage, networking, security, and web hosting
  • Knowledge of consumer related metrics, consumer acquisition and retention and go to market strategies for technology product and services
  • Proven ability to manage a large stakeholder network effectively and collaboratively in an environment comprised of diverse roles and interests
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Problem analysis and problem solving skills
  • Systems analysis and project management skills
  • High degree of initiative, and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
